Prices at the pump have jumped in June, the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) has announced.

The price of petrol and diesel are both up just over five percent to 1,966 TSH per litre and 1,782 TSH per litre, respectively.

“These changes have been caused by changes of prices of petroleum products in the world market,” says EWURA director general Felix Ngamlagosi.

Ngamlagosi says the continued depreciation of the Tanzanian shilling against the US dollar also plays a role in fuel prices.
