
A 4.8 magnitude earthquake could be felt in parts of Dar.
A light earthquake was felt early this morning in parts of Dar es Salaam.
The magnitude 4.8 earthquake took place at 02:43 Wednesday morning in the Indian Ocean approximately 75 kilometres south east of Dar.
Data provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) says that the quake took place at a depth of 10 kilometres.
The USGS says approximately 13,000 4 to 4.9 magnitude quakes take place annually.
