Eleven people are dead and over 20 injured following a head-on collision between a lorry and a passenger bus in Tanga region.
The crash occurred near Pandamlima in Muheza district at approximately 07:15 on Thursday, February 11, when a fully loaded lorry collided with a Simbamtoto passenger bus.
According to East Africa Television, driver fatigue was a factor.
President John Magufuli sent his condolences and spoke out about road safety on Thursday afternoon, calling for motorists to exercise caution and follow traffic laws to avoid accidents.
