Air Seychelles will be discontinuing its service to Dar on March 12.

“[The] twice a week Dar es Salaam service did not deliver the expected inbound guest benefit to Seychelles,” says Air Seychelles chief executive Roy Kinnear, speaking to the Seychelles News Agency.

Any guests set to fly after March 12 will be accommodated on other flights.

The airline first began flying to Dar in December 2014, as part of a push to become a trade hub between African countries and boost tourism.

Air Seychelles says they will instead be adding an additional flight to Johannesburg, which brought over 13,000 visitors to the island nation last year.
