Zanzibar’s president Ali Mohamed Shein was sworn in for his second term in office today, March 24.
Shein warned that he would have ‘zero tolerance on people who attempt to cause instability.’
“As I form a new government, I appeal to everybody to play their role in building Zanzibar,” says Shein.
Shein captured 91.4 percent of the vote in the controversial election re-run, which main opposition party CUF boycotted.
Noticeably absent were diplomats from over a dozen countries which called the decision to have a re-run election regretful.
