The construction of a second Kigamboni bridge has halted the opening of the first.

“We really want to open both bridges at the same time,” says construction project manager Wi Bildit.

Bildit says their brand manager has liaised with the Dar es Salaam Branding and Public Perception  Commission (DABRPUPECO), which wants Dar to be known as the twin bridge city.

“Our brand manager says it would have more social media impact if we open both bridges at the same time.”

The second bridge, which will join Barack Obama Drive to the yet-to-be constructed Trump Drive in Kigamboni, is scheduled to be completed in 2019.

It’s tradition in the news world to write one silly and completely untrue story on April 1. Happy April Fools’ Day from everyone at Dar Post!
