Upcoming power outages

Utility provider TANESCO has planned maintenance work for the upcoming month.

Power outages are expected in Kinondoni North from Wednesday, August 31 to Friday, September 2, due to planned upgrades.

Affected areas include parts of: Salaala, Magereza (Prisons) office, Wakurya, Big Brother, Kinzudi and surrounding areas.

Further outages in Kinondoni North are expected from 07:00 to 16:00 on September 1 due to maintenance at the Oysterbay sub-station.

Affected areas include parts of: Oysterbay, Msasani, Stanbic Bank, Kenyan Embassy, Uganda Ave, St. Peters, Leaders Club, Ada Estate, Tanesco, Zantel, Msasani Baby Shop, Toure Drive and surrounding areas.

Upgrades to power infrastructure in Ilala will result in severe disruptions across for several days in September.

Disruptions are planned from 08:00 to 17:00 on September 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25.

Affected areas include all of the city center, Upanga, Kariakoo, Buguruni, Ilala, Mbagala, Chang’ombe, Kiwanda cha Saruji Maweni, Ministry of Tourism, Tusiime Mission, Tanzania Oxygen, Temeke district and municipal offices, Unilever, national stadium, Puma headquarters, Temesa, Jamana printers, Quality Plaza, Notco, Bima ya Afya, port entrance and surrounding areas.
