Malaysia has confirmed that the debris found in Pemba is indeed from missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

The piece of a Boeing 777 outboard flap will be examined for further clues, says Malaysia’s transport minister.

It had washed ashore in June 2016.

The Malaysia Airlines flight carrying 239 passengers and crew disappeared after veering off-course on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in 2014.

A piece of debris which washed up on Reunion island last year and several other items found in Mozambique, South Africa and Mauritius are still being examined.
