In an attempt to correct deepening financial losses, troubled airline Fastjet has cancelled two international routes.

As of Monday, December 5, the airline will stop flying routes between Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Entebbe and the Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Nairobi.

“This suspension of the routes is part of our ongoing turnaround program in pursuit of long term sustainable financial structures for our businesses in Tanzania and Zimbabwe,” says Fastjet in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

The airline’s losses deepened to 15 million dollars in the first half of 2016 in what was a ‘very difficult and challenging time,’ according to the airline’s chief executive officer Nico Bezuidenhout.

Technical issues also caused severe delays and cancellations to other Fastjet flights this week.

Editor’s note: updated to clarify route cancellation.
