Tanzania celebrated it’s 55th Independence Day on Friday, December 9.
Last year, Independence Day was cancelled by President John Magufuli as a cost-cutting measure and even this year’s event consisted of just a parade — no state banquet was held after the event.
Speaking during the parade at the National Stadium, Magufuli says next year’s Independence Day celebration will be held in the capital, Dodoma.
