Deli shutting doors for good

After 15 years, Sam’s Deli in Oysterbay is closing its doors for good on Tuesday, January 31.

“There are no words to thank all my customers,” says owner Samiha Costa.

“I’d like to thank you all for the support you have always given us. Everybody wanted us to survive.”

Costa first opened the deli in Mikocheni in 2002, but quickly moved to the current location in the Oysterbay Shopping Centre.

Costa says after years of 18 hour days trying to keep the deli a viable business, she’s taking much-needed time to re-connect with family.

Her husband’s cafe next to the deli will remain open.

Sam, I’m so sad to hear this. Your place was so special and we all loved your personal customer service as well as all the delicious food you sold. No shop in Dar can replace yours, especially with the wonderful homemade pastas and sauces that made such easy and delicious dinners for our families. Come to USA River! Rent is cheap up here! Love from Louise, John, Debora, Jordan, Mia and Caio.

  2. Samiha, I left Dar 4 years ago, but still think dearly of you and your family. Spero che tutto andra bene per voi tutti. Auguri per il futuro. Clelia

It has always been such a pleasure to pass by your shop, and there is certainly nothing in town that can compete. I wish you the all best! Lots of love from Minou
