Update – 13:00:  Crews continue to work on restoring normal operations to the national power grid following an unexpected outage early Wednesday morning.

At this time, power is reported to be back in parts of Dar.

Not sure why you don’t have power this morning, January 25?

The Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) doesn’t know why either.

“Something went wrong” at the Ubongo power plant, and has caused widespread outages, says a press release issued by TANESCO Wednesday morning.

Technicians are continuing efforts to restore power, says the press release.

A similar unplanned outage happened in December.
