A wind and wave warning is in effect for Dar es Salaam and coastal Tanzania.
The warning, issued by the Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA) also includes Lake Victoria.
“Strong winds reaching 40 km/h and large waves reaching 2 meters high at times are expected,” says the TMA.
The warning is in effect for Tuesday, May 23, however only ‘slight changes’ are expected for Wednesday, May 24.
The forecast calls for varied conditions over Dar, ranging from thundershowers to sunny intervals.
