The 125 year-old stained glass windows at the Lutheran Azania Front Church have been brought back to their former glory.

Bishop Alex Malasua and German Ambassador Egon Kochanke commemorated the successful restoration of the stained glass church windows on Thursday, June 22.

A donation of 94 million TSH ($42,000 USD) by the German government allowed the windows to be sent to a specialist in Uganda where they were restored.

The project to restore the windows began in 2014 after former German president Joachim Gauck visited the church.
