Member of Parliment for Singida East, Tundu Lissu, was shot in his vehicle outside his Dodoma home on Thursday, September 7.
Lissu, a Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA) opposition politician, was “seriously wounded” in the attack which took place around midday after a parliamentary session, says CHADEMA spokesperson Tumaini Makene.
The Citizen newspaper reports Lissu to be in critical condition at Dodoma Regional Hospital.
Lissu is his party’s chief whip and also president of the Tanganyika Law Society.
