Over a hundred Global March for Elephants and Rhinos events are planned worldwide on October 7, including in Dar.
The event will start at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism on Nyerere Rd at 07:00 and make its way to the Mnazi Mmoja grounds.
Organizers say there will be musical performances and speeches from a variety of Tanzanian activists, youth groups, and Members of Parliament advocating for elephant and rhino conservation in Tanzania.
However, the event organizers say they still need to raise 1.5 million TSH ($670 USD) to hire sufficient security, cover transport costs and ensure the event goes smoothly.
