Four police officers and three civilians have been killed in a brazen attack on a police post on Sunday.
The attack took place at a police post in Stakishari, on the western edge of Dar es Salaam, on Sunday night.
The assailants arrived at the police post around 22:00 and pretended to be complainants, says Police Chief Ernest Mangu.
When the officer on duty started asking questions, they opened fire.
According to Reuters news agency, one of the civilians killed is believed to be one of the attackers.
The remaining assailants made off with an unknown amount of weapons and ammunition.
