Not again! For the third year in a row, Tanzania is — surprisingly — among the top ten unhappiest countries in the world.
The World Happiness Report has ranked Tanzania as the fourth unhappiest country in the world, next to South Sudan, Central African Republic, and Burundi.
The findings surprised the reports authors, who expected Tanzania to score ‘much higher.’
“Tanzania, Rwanda and Botswana have anomalous scores, in the sense that their predicted values based on their performance on the six key variables, would suggest they would rank much higher than shown by the survey answers.”
Of the 156 countries included in the survey, Kenya ranked 124th, Uganda 135th, Rwanda 151st, and Burundi in 156th — the unhappiest country in the world.
The happiest country in the world this year is Finland.
