Update: The TMA has extended the heavy rain warning to Sunday, April 30.
The warning now also includes strong winds of over 40 km/h expected to result in waves of over 2 meters in the Indian Ocean.
“Residents … are advised to take necessary precautions.”
Periods of heavy precipitation centered over the Isles on Friday, April 28 are expected to also reach Dar es Salaam, says the Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA.)
Brief periods of heavy rain exceeding 50mm in 24 hours are expected.
The TMA warning extends until Saturday, April 29.
