Tanzania’s new president, John Magufuli, was sworn in on Thursday, November 5, in a ceremony at the national stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking to the tens of thousands of onlookers as well as heads of state from across Africa, Magufuli says he learned a lot from the election campaign.
He encouraged everyone, regardless of political differences, to work together for the betterment of Tanzanian society.
Magufuli also thanked former president, Benjamin Mkapa for having faith in him and naming him Minister of Works.
