We don’t want to brag, but the people at Dar Post are winners.
One of the minds behind Dar Post, freelance photographer Daniel Hayduk, has received a national award in Canada for a photograph he made here in Dar es Salaam last year.
(OK, we know, that’s even before Dar Post was a twinkle in our founders’ eyes, but we say he belongs to us now.)
The photograph of a construction site downtown, was nominated by an international panel of judges and took home the top spot in the Pictorial Photo of the Year category at the News Photographers Association of Canada (NPAC) annual gala in Vancouver on Saturday, May 9.
“These awards recognize the excellence represented in submissions by Canada’s outstanding photojournalists whose compelling images collectively represented a spectacular body of work,” says a press release by the NPAC.
Congratulations Daniel!

Well done Dan! Is that a view from the Holiday Inn rooftop? Love it!
Hey Jamie: yup, that’s the spot! Looks a bit different now.
